শ্রীমঙ্গলে নিখোঁজ রীমা রানীকে দক্ষিন সুরমা থেকে উদ্ধার

মৌলভীবাজারে শ্রীমঙ্গল থেকে অপহৃত কিশোরী রীমা রানী সরকার (১৫)-কে উদ্ধার করেছে পুলিশ। এ ঘটনায় জড়িত চারজনকে গ্রেফতার করা হয়েছে। গতকাল (২৪ অক্টোবর) তথ্য-প্রযুক্তির সহায়তায় শ্রীমঙ্গল থানা পুলিশের বিশেষ অভিযানে ভিকটিম রীমা রানী সরকারকে উদ্ধার এবং ঘটনায় জড়িত শিল্পী সরকার ওরফে শিল্পী বেগম ও তার স্বামী মোবারক মিয়াকে গ্রেফতার করা হয়।

এর আগে গত ২৯ সেপ্টেম্বর দুর্গাপূজার সপ্তমীর দিনে শ্রীমঙ্গল শহরের আর.কে. মিশন রোড দুর্গা মন্দিরে অঞ্জলী দিতে গিয়ে নিখোঁজ হয় রীমা রানী সরকার। এ ঘটনায় ভিকটিমের পিতা মতিলাল বিশ্বাস বাদী হয়ে কমলগঞ্জ উপজেলার কাঠালকান্দি গ্রামের বদরুল আলম (২৫)সহ তিনজনের বিরুদ্ধে শ্রীমঙ্গল থানায় অভিযোগ দায়ের করেন। অভিযোগের প্রেক্ষিতে নারী ও শিশু নির্যাতন দমন আইন, ২০০০ (সংশোধনী ২০০৩) এর ৭/৩০ ধারায় মামলা (নং–০৮, তারিখ: ০৫/১০/২০২৫) রুজু করা হয়।

অপহরণের পর থেকেই বাংলাদেশ পুলিশের মাননীয় আইজিপি মহোদয় এবং সিলেট রেঞ্জের ডিআইজি মহোদয়ের দিকনির্দেশনায়, মৌলভীবাজার জেলার পুলিশ সুপার জনাব মোঃ এম.কে.এইচ. জাহাঙ্গীর হোসেন, পিপিএম-সেবা’র সার্বিক তত্ত্বাবধানে শ্রীমঙ্গল থানা পুলিশ অভিযান শুরু করে।

তথ্য-প্রযুক্তির সহায়তা এবং ঘটনাস্থলের আশপাশের সিসি টিভি ফুটেজ বিশ্লেষণ করে পুলিশ ধারাবাহিক অভিযান পরিচালনা করে। এরই ধারাবাহিকতায় গত ০৮ ও ১১ অক্টোবর মামলার এজাহারনামীয় দুই আসামী বদরুল আলম (২৫) ও শহিদ মিয়া (৩২)-কে গ্রেফতার করে বিজ্ঞ আদালতে সোপর্দ করা হয়।

শ্রীমঙ্গল থানার অফিসার ইনচার্জ মো: আমিনুল ইসলাম জানান, গ্রেফতারকৃত দুইজনের কাছ ভিকটিম সম্পর্কে থেকে পর্যাপ্ত তথ্য না পাওয়ায় তদন্ত আরও জোরদার করা হয়।

পরবর্তী তদন্তে ভিকটিমের খালা প্রিয়াংকা সরকারের ব্যবহৃত একটি মোবাইল ফোন উদ্ধার করে তার কল রেকর্ড বিশ্লেষণের মাধ্যমে ভিকটিমের অবস্থান শনাক্ত করা হয়। জানা যায়, সিলেট জেলার দক্ষিণ সুরমা থানার ধরাধরপুর এলাকায় শিল্পী সরকার ওরফে শিল্পী বেগম ও তার স্বামী মোবারক মিয়া ভিকটিমকে তাদের ভাড়া বাসায় আটক করে রেখেছে।

তদন্তে আরও প্রকাশ পায় যে, শিল্পী সরকার (ওরফে শিল্পী বেগম) ভিকটিমের আপন খালা। প্রায় দুই বছর আগে তিনি মোবারক মিয়ার সঙ্গে প্রেমের সম্পর্কের সূত্রে ধর্মান্তরিত হয়ে বিবাহ বন্ধনে আবদ্ধ হন। ঘটনার দিন তিনি পূর্ব পরিকল্পনা অনুযায়ী মন্দির সংলগ্ন এলাকায় অবস্থান করে অঞ্জলী শেষে ফেরার পথে কিশোরী রীমাকে প্রলোভন দেখিয়ে সিলেটের ধরাধরপুর এলাকায় নিয়ে যায় এবং পরিবারের সঙ্গে যোগাযোগ বিচ্ছিন্ন করে রাখে।

Missing Teen Reema Rani Rescued from South Surma, Four Arrested

Moulvibazar police have rescued Reema Rani Sarkar (15), a teenager who went missing from Sreemangal, and arrested four individuals in connection with the case. The rescue operation was carried out by Sreemangal police on October 24, with the assistance of information technology. Among those arrested are Shilpi Sarkar alias Shilpi Begum and her husband Mobarak Mia.

According to police, Reema Rani went missing on September 29, the day of Durga Puja’s Saptami, after visiting the R.K. Mission Road Durga Temple in Sreemangal for rituals. Her father, Motilal Biswas, later filed a complaint with the Sreemangal Police Station, accusing Badrul Alam (25) from Kathalkandi village of Kamalganj upazila, along with two others, of abducting his daughter.

Following the complaint, a case was filed under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act, 2000 (Amendment 2003), Sections 7/30 (Case No. 08, dated 05/10/2025).

Under the direction of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and Sylhet Range DIG, and under the overall supervision of Superintendent of Police (SP) Md. M.K.H. Jahangir Hossain, PPM-Service, the Sreemangal police launched a special operation to trace the missing girl.

Using modern technology and analyzing CCTV footage from the area, police carried out multiple drives. As part of the ongoing investigation, two of the named suspects, Badrul Alam (25) and Shahid Mia (32), were arrested on October 8 and 11 and produced before the court.

Sreemangal Police Officer-in-Charge Md. Aminul Islam stated that, as the two arrestees did not provide sufficient information about the victim, the investigation was further intensified.

During the extended probe, investigators recovered a mobile phone belonging to Priyanka Sarkar, the victim’s maternal aunt, and analyzed its call records. This led police to identify the location of the missing girl. It was discovered that Shilpi Sarkar alias Shilpi Begum and her husband Mobarak Mia were holding the girl captive at their rented home in Dharadharpur area under South Surma Police Station in Sylhet.

Further investigation revealed that Shilpi Sarkar (alias Shilpi Begum) is the victim’s maternal aunt. About two years ago, she converted her religion to marry Mobarak Mia after a romantic relationship. On the day of the incident, following a premeditated plan, she lured Reema away from the Durga temple premises after the prayers and took her to South Surma, cutting off all communication with her family.
